Hi, I’m Anthony Marsh, and I am a candidate for the Briars Ward (Mt Martha, Mornington, Mt Eliza) in the upcoming Mornington Peninsula Shire Council elections. I’ve had the privilege of calling the Mornington Peninsula home for most of my life and now live in Mt Martha with my wife and two young children.
Having volunteered and been involved in several great clubs across the peninsula for many years, I find it immensely satisfying and rewarding to give back and to play an active role in our local community. As an ex-Air Force Officer turned entrepreneur, I will bring to the role of councillor a unique combination of my fighting spirit, entrepreneurial drive, strong commercial experience, and community mindset, to work with you to create an even better peninsula.
A peninsula where our council works with, and not against local businesses. A peninsula interconnected by paths and facilities to enhance the health and wellbeing of our community, easily accessible by our youths, growing families and older population. A peninsula that attracts investment and a bigger slice of state and federal funding, while reducing pressure on rates. A peninsula where local jobs and contracts are prioritised, creating better opportunities across our economy. A peninsula of smart and environmentally aware infrastructure and well-maintained roads.
I will protect our natural landscapes, beaches and coastal villages from the inevitable pressures of overdevelopment and changes in our environment. I will work relentlessly to make our council a leader in service delivery, governance, and transparency, and to rebuild confidence. Vote for me and let me be your voice for a better peninsula.
